The above was a very difficult paragraph for me to write. It bothers me even to ask if I can borrow tools or for help. Seriously ! . It’s how my Wife and Son will be hugely impacted by my future with Polycistic Kidney that enabled me to write that. Yah, I’m Messed Up, I know that already, but I now see that it’s Not “A Cross I Have To Carry” and I DO see how Transplant is definately the way to go for all involved. _________________________________________________This is My 1st Blog enty . . .” This is my thinking out loud / education process on POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE, ( PKD ). I “stuck” this post to the top of this Blog, in case someone new see’s it , maybe this can help someone someday. This is just my take on things “! !
In a Nutshell :
I have known I had Polyscystic Kidneys for the last 25 yrs ( its a hereditary thing ). Oct. of 2008 I found out my Kidneys are in stage 4 of the 5 stage failure program, Basically my Kidneys are functioning at about 22 % of normal. Failure to the point of needing Dialysis or Transplant ( 15 % function ) is estimated between 1 – 2 years, with the possibility of a bad Flu etc taking them out at any time.
So I figured I’d start jotting down my thoughts, health notes and self education on Kidneys and Transplant info in one place. For my benefit and a reference place for others.
