This is my thinking out loud / education process on KIDNEY DISEASE, ( PKD ). This is just my take on things ! If You Comment, tell me if it’s to be kept PRIVATE !
Pink Posts are from My Wonderful Wife.
EVERYONE PLEASE ! ! ! Sign your Organ Donor Cards ( if you have that program in your Province or State ) and Discuss your wishes with your Family so They are not Left to Decide what to do, should you be involved in a Fatal Accident. You could turn Tragedy into Several Life Changing Gifts, A legacy that would live on . Just have the talk !
ps. I won’t be needing an Organ from you ( as I have been Blessed with a Living Donor transplant shortly ) but there are people waiting up to 9 years for a kidney as you read this. Note : my family and I have had this discussion years ago, while we where all healthy. I just makes sense.
Thanks for considering being a Donor and Giving the Gift of LIFE, should the worst happen.
Thanks for setting this up Al! You are an important member of this family, and we all care about your health. It’s funny that we don’t seem to mention it to each other until something goes wrong.
I’m wondering how we can find out if we are a specific donor match for you if we have the right blood type. Is it the same telephone number that you will be posting to find out more info about being a donor in general?
Heh Al:
LOVE the blog!! It is SO informative and SOOO many people are rooting for you and your family. Be strong! I know you are!!!
You have so many that will walk with you through this. You are such a Cuke!!
Love the “Uke”!!!
Hi Honey
Glad you are feeling well this week!!!
We’re thinking and praying for you. You’ve been a regular conversation around our house. Thanks for setting up the blog as it makes it nice for us
to check up on you. We need those updates and special updates and we know its hard for you to write them but those of us that are lucky enough to know you realize, you have a tough time borrowing a screwdriver let alone a kidney. Your just putting it out there though, so if someone is interested
they’ll let you know. We have an acquaintance and if my memory serves me correctly he is one of the first kidney transplant patients in Canada – 1966. He is now around 80 and doing awesome. Take care and keep your stick on the ice.
Awesome link to Donor Interview…that’s one lucky lady!

Re: Cousin Ed Ciomment = Your Right, Its talking with You and Vid’s like this that let me see the Gift of Giving part of being a Donor . I’d only really looked at it from the ” Sorry for Imposing ” angle until recently.m THANKS !
Re: Gordons Comment = Thanks for the kind words ” Big Fella “, Glad to hear such a great transplant story, I’m buying into the positive side of the equation in a big way Now, Hoping to take a run at the 1966 Dudes Record ! !
yo dad, i put a link to this on my website (not that anyone knows it exists), so i thought i’d let you know. if you want me to take it off just tell me.
Love, Dane

All done this round of tests. It’s good to know that one of us is healthy (well except for finding a minor problem) Now we wait and see if I can move ahead to next level of testing.
I invite anybody else to join me in the quest to “GIVE”. You get many fringe benefits. A free trip to Vancouver (all-inclusive), not to mention all the medical tests which you would not otherwise have done to find out you are healthy.
